In a growing effort to extend its global leadership, Urban Airship, a US-based mobile engagement and digital wallet solutions provider, has reportedly acquired Accengage, the largest mobile engagement platform in Europe. Reportedly, with the latest buyout, Urban Airship intends to influence the global enterprise market by incorporating its customer base and industry-leading solutions into the European company.
Reportedly, the combined companies now form the largest mobile customer engagement platform in the world, providing efficient solutions for websites, apps, SMS, mobile wallets, and email among other channels. Customers can now highly benefit from their access into expanded engineering resources and new technologies besides gaining support from Europe’s largest group of digital customer engagement professionals, cite sources familiar with the development.
Sources further claim that both the businesses are proficient in the high-growth industry verticals such as finance, retail, travel and media, using the same programming languages and back-end technologies. Industry experts believe that the combined business will be benefiting from Urban Airship’s dominance in the U.S., UK, and Nordics while, Accengage’s leadership in the European countries including Germany, France, Italy and Spain.

All employees of Accengage will join Urban Airship, including CEO Patrick Mareuil, who will expectedly lead the operations in Europe, as the Managing Director of EMEA from the new Paris office of Urban Airship.
