Columbia Pulp reinforces stance in U.S. polymers industry via TPG deal

Renowned polymers & advanced materials industry giant, Columbia Pulp, LLC, has apparently announced its tie-up with TPG (The Paradigm Group). The collaboration entails the latter to serve as Columbia Pulp’s national sales agent for its de-icing and dust control biopolymer line.

For the record, biopolymers are allegedly co-products of the company’s patent wheat straw pulp production that is claimed to be the first of its kind in the country. As per reliable sources, the agreement would allow the U.S headquartered company to effectively merchandise its flagship technologies across U.S market.

This is not the first instance where Columbia Pulp is making significant efforts to proliferate its wheat straw pulp production. Reportedly, the company has already made its way to the headlines with the announcement of establishing a new, innovative wheat straw pulping facility at Lyon’s Ferry in Washington, expected to get completed by the end of this year. Incidentally, Columbia Pulp’s new pilot facility near Pomeroy, Washington is likely to commence its commercial grade sample production from next month.

As per sources, both of Colombia’s advanced facilities are reported to produce co-products of lignin polymers and wet-lap pulps as well, which would culminate in entering dust and ice-control supply chains. Experts believe that these biopolymers are likely to amass a huge popularity in the U.S. polymers market with an extensive application landscape.

TPG, on the other hand, has been closely involved in bringing novel dust palliatives and de-icing technologies to emerging markets.  The latest deal therefore, is a crucial breakthrough in Columbia Pulp’s efforts in leveraging the maximum of U.S. polymers & advanced materials industry, claim analysts.

Some of the company’s top shots have been quoted saying that bringing The Paradigm Group’s technical expertise and knowhow into Columbia Pulp’s portfolio would certainly fortify its stance in U.S polymers & advanced materials industry.
