Automotive industry giant Icahn Group acquires 4 new service centers

Icahn Automotive LLC, one of the foremost regional automotive & transportation industry players, has recently announced that it has acquired 4 new privately-owned service centers in the Detroit metropolitan area of Michigan. Seemingly, the company aims to expand its service footprint in North America automotive & transportation industry.

The four service centers include Novi Motive Goodyear based in Novi, Fix N Go Auto Centers located at Oxford and Troy, and Belanger Tire & Auto Service in Westland. According to sources, the locations will be converted into Pep Boys Service & Tire centers.

Ichan’s acquisitions reportedly come on the heels of its previously-announced multi-million-dollar Metro Detroit expansion plan that includes inventory expansion, Pep Boys store openings, existing store remodels, and the recent acquisition of Phil Cavill’s Goodyear Tire & Auto Service Center in Clawson and Precision Tune Auto Care.

If sources are to be believed, Icahn Automotive currently manages more than 2000 franchised and owned retail & service locations that operate across 49 states and also in the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico territory, and Canada.

For the record, Icahn Automotive Group was formed by its parent company Icahn Enterprises L.P. to operate in the automotive aftermarket parts distribution and services. The company aims to provide value-based and premium services for the automotive & transportation industry players with its businesses comprising an automotive aftermarket retail & service chain – Pep Boys; an automotive service chain – Just Brakes®; an automotive aftermarket parts distributor – Auto Plus®; a network of franchised and owned automotive service centers – Precision Tune Auto Care; and American Driveline Systems.

Daniel A. Ninivaggi, CEO of Icahn Automotive, was quoted saying that the company’s acquisition of the four Detroit based service centers marks an important step in strengthening its foothold in the expanding North America automotive & transportation market. He further welcomed the new members to the team and addressed them to work together to serve their loyal customers while leveraging their efficient distribution models and expansive operations.
